A basic working sim

I kept finding myself trying to focus on the art and design of these projects. Being my weakest area, I was looking for some magic bullet AI skill or MCP driven tool that would instantly level me up.

Decided to take a step back and focus on a personal game that I have been wanting to play myself. I have a nostalgic pull to the SNES classic Metal Marines. But I wanted to make it more modern and easier to jump into.

Defense forces must halt a Kaiju invasion.

Phase 1 was just the rules, no screen at all. Money and energy ticking up, buildings going down on a grid, missiles that cost money and take time to land, a hive that grows on its own that you have to blow holes in. All of it running and tested before there was anything to look at.

Phase 2 put a screen on it. A grid you can click, a build bar, missiles you can actually fire and watch land. Played it myself, plays the basics the way I want.

And now I have a basic working sim.

Kaiju Defense debug build: two-island grid, placeholder blocks for buildings and creep, resource HUD and build bar
