Synvel
in design
Synthetic Virtual Environment Lifeform. A system that uses an LLM as a thinking piece, but not the focus: the brain is one organ of many, and it's swappable, so as newer and better models come out nothing else has to be modified.
- Memory: a large plain-text knowledge base, read at every session start.
- Feeling layer: a small monitor that watches for patterns in the record and pushes back.
- Senses: a separate project called Sylas, the eyes, ears, and mouth.
- Self-learning proof: a small local model trained on my own writing, retrained from my edits.
Roots in Brooks' subsumption architecture and Friston's active inference. Build notes are in the devlog as they happen.
